From Dad's recipe book. Pages 2 and 3.
1 3/4 cups flour
1 1/2 cups oatmeal
3/4 cups firmly packed oatmeal
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 cups butter or margarine melted
1 x 6 oz. pkg semi-sweet chocolate morsels
1/2 cup coarsely chopped walnuts or pecans
1 x 12 1/2 oz camel or butterscotch topping
Combine 1 1/2 cups flour, oats, sugar, and salt. Add melted butter. Mix until crumbly Reserve 3/4 cup for topping. Press remaining mix into bottom of a greased 9" x 13" baking pan. Bake at 375 for 10 mins.
Take out and sprinkle with chips and nuts. Combine topping and 1/4 cup flour. Drizzle over chocolate and nuts. Sprinkle with remaining crumb mixture. Bake 20 mins more. Cool completely and cut into bars.
